The Secular Oratory is a community of Catholic young adults,
inspired by the spirituality of St. Philip Neri.

 

Come to one of our meetings
On Tuesday Evenings at 7:30 PM
At St. Francis Xavier Church
A short walk from the Philadelphia Art Museum

 

Just go to the porch of the Parish House, ring the bell, and ask to be directed to the Oratory meeting.
The Parish House is to the right of the church, at 2319 Green Street.

Heroes of the Desert

Tuesday meetings, unless otherwise noted in the schedule, consist of:

  • The singing of a hymn

  • The reading of the Gospel, and readings for the next Sunday

  • A period of silent meditation

  • A period of discussion (but you don’t have to talk)

  • The praying of the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Angelus

  • A hymn to the Blessed Mother

  • A social in the Oratory House (at about 8:30)
